Robinson finishes third at Legit Speedway Park
After Mother Nature shifted Friday night’s program to Sunday, Kent Robinson traveled to Legit Speedway Park (West Plains, Mo.) on Saturday night for the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) doubleheader. Drawing 49 cars for the Missouri Hardwoods Back to the Future 50, Kent followed up the fourth fastest lap in time trials with an 8-lap heat race victory. After second-starting Steve Casebolt set a steady pace for the first 42 circuits of the feature, Robinson closed in on Casebolt after a pair of late-race restarts. Trying to utilize the high side to sneak around Casebolt on the final restart, Kent was unable to get around the leader, scoring him third on the rundown behind Casebolt and Payton Looney with Tony Jackson Jr. and Billy Moyer Jr. rounding out the Top-5. 1The following night for the West Plains Resaw Back to Business 30, Robinson laid down the second fastest time in his qualifying group before capturing an 8-lap heat race victory. With Karl Chevrolet boosting the purse to $9,000, Kent held his spot for all 30-laps to place fourth behind Jesse Stovall, Logan Martin, and Payton Looney with Timothy Culp coming in fifth.
