Splitting the massive 107-car field into two groups, Robinson timed in 10th-fastest in his group before placing sixth in his heat. Needing to place second or better in his B-Main to make the $12,000-to-win preliminary feature, Kent came one spot short with a third-place finish.
On Friday, Kent’s fourth-place finish in his heat race placed him on the seventh row for his prelim. With $12,000 on the line, Robinson passed three cars in the 25-lapper to finish 10th.
Rolling off on the front row of his heat race on Saturday based off preliminary points, Robinson edged his way into the $55,000-to-win World 100 with the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Starting in 15th, Kent improved two positions in the 100-lap affair, crossing the line in 13th.
