Kent Robinson
Visits to Paragon and Eldora cut short for K-Rob
Saturday saw Kent Robinson return to the driver’s seat of his JB’s Salvage No. 7R Late Model with the Ultimate Heart of America Series at Paragon Speedway (Paragon, Ind.).
After topping the 32-car group in time trials with a blistering 16.255-second lap, Kent secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a second-place finish in his heat. Starting the feature in sixth, Robinson was an early retiree from the 50-lapper on lap 17.
For the Eldora Speedway’s (Rossburg, Ohio) season opener on Tuesday, Robinson traveled to the prestigious ¼-mile oval for the Castrol FloRacing Night in America lid lifter. With a stout field of 54 Late Models on the grounds, Kent timed in sixth-fastest in his group before placing fourth in his heat, missing a transfer spot by one car. With a second-place finish in his B-Main placing him on the 11th row for the $23,023-to-win A-Main, the bad luck continued for Robinson as he pulled pitside on the 12th circuit.
With the field elevated to 56 cars on Wednesday at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.) for another $23,023-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America event, Kent’s seventh-place finish in his heat relegated him into the B-Main for another shot at the A-Main. Taking the top-two, Robinson gained two positions but failed to qualify with a fifth-place outing.
